Comment on Google Latitude by Herman

"Latitude" is interesting to me because of it's data gathering capabilities. I'm not a big fan of sending my location out to all of my friends to see, so I don't have any Latitude friends. But I am interested in its ability to count how many hours a week I spend out, at work, or at home. It does all of this without me having to do a thing.

I've always dreamed of an app that would keep track of the amount of time I spend doing different activities. How much time do I spend at the grocery store, or how often do go? How many hours a week am I at Starbucks?

While there are time trackers out there, they require you to "clock in" and "clock out" of the activity, which means pulling out your phone every time you get to the coffee shop or the grocery store. I see Latitude as a way to gather that type of data without having to pull out your phone. It's pretty impressive in it's potential to seamlessly gather quantitative data on your every day life.

The college fulfilled its obligation to her; it gave her an education. If by some dreadful stroke of fate she actually wins this case, I can only hope that she surrenders her degree. But I do not believe she will, as it seems she expects something for nothing. The college is not required to do the legwork involved in finding graduate jobs, that's the graduate's responsibility.

Either way, this lawsuit was going to blow up in her face. Win or lose, she has made herself unemployable. It is possible that she was simply trying to highlight the issue but I doubt it.

You better do two posts a week or else I'm gonna come down to Phoenix and punch you in the nuts. Because that will somehow produce two posts a week for me to read and enjoy. I am into your blog, and expect more of it, or else you can expect some broken testicles.

Dude great post - good insight on the content creation and how to find new ways to get invovled "these platforms exist FOR you, not BY you. If you think you’re an expert at plumbing in Phoenix, check out Examiner.com and see if you can add your own input or even publish your own works to the community" great way for people to become influencers.
