Before I had decided to title this post, ‘The State of SEO,’ I had originally titled it ‘Is SEO Dying?’ Cool huh? Actually, I had written a 800 word post describing why I thought SEO was on the verge of collapse within the industry and within online marketing in general. I scratched that idea out of fear of backlash from my fellow SEO die-hards out there. Maybe someday I’ll post it (after the fact of course, and then look like a complete idiot).

Instead, ‘The State of SEO’ has become my first entry on RyanAndElliott.com. As I’ve been fidgeting around with my own blog, as well as with work at my actual job, Elliott finally pushed me to create something, so here it is.

What is the State of SEO as we know it?

In my most honest and most deepest opinion, SEO is changing dramatically. There was a time when you could say that for any given company or any ‘New Media’ company out there, SEO was a valid career path. Is this the case now? Maybe, but I don’t think it should be….

Recently, I was able to set up my own Google Voice number! Whoot! Actually, me friend Elliott and I were looking for a way to record our calls as kind of a cool way to make podcasts… what do you think of our test?

Any ways, check www.RyanAndElliott.com in the next few days for the beginning of our new and improved audio only podcast… we had to do it that way since he’s in Seattle and I’m in Phoenix. We might one day go back to video, but this is just easier for the time being.

So whats new? I’ll tell you. RyanAndElliott.com is underway. Nothing is up or running at the moment, but it should be soon. What’s this all about you ask? Who knows? All I know is, it’s gunna be awesome.

At RyanAndElliott.com, we wanna take an approach to Social Media, SEO, PPC, Emerging Tech, Emerging Companies, and so forth, that others aren’t really  taking. Not only is it light hearted, but it’s also informative. We aren’t dumb or anything, we just believe that in our day in age, everything doesn’t have to be so serious all the time.

So in the coming week/weeks, check it out. We should have a Webcast updated every week as well. Our first installment should be up by Tuesday sometime. We’re crossing our fingers. Also, let us know what you think! We want to make sure your involvement and your voice is heard:
