1 Week and 2 Days!

Can you believe I go home in less than 2 weeks? I can’t! I’m incredibly excited for this year’s holiday season. I’m not quite sure why, but may have something to do with being in Phoenix for the past 4 months or so. I’m ready for home cooked food, family, and friends.

Any ways, that’s pretty much the main thing thats on my mind right now. Oh and how I’ve spent some 15 hours or so making my Christmas presents for everyone and having the hard drive thats saving it all totally crash on me. That’s keeping me up at night as well. No problems. I’m going to an Apple store this afternoon to try and pull all the info off of it, or fix it.. whatever it takes. I’ll tell you this for sure though, if the Apple ‘Geniuses’ can’t do diddly squat for my problem, I’m spending the next week coving some lost ground. Late nights, and early mornings… more work, and more stress, just what I need. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Time for Video Editing

So as promised, I just wanted to give you a quick updated on where I am at for my Christmas present to my family. After visiting my parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews this last weekend for Thanksgiving, I was able to bring back the old GL1, and some old Christmas tapes. The task at hand.. create the Gudmundson Christmas DVD. It’ll be pretty much just a DVD with old Christmas footage… maybe even some really old stuff depending on if I can get some equipment.. and thats about it. Nothing really too interesting I suppose -_-.

But apparently, everyone thinks that’d be a great Christmas gift so I’m going to do it. Cheap too.. At the same time, it’s making me want to get back into video editing.

When I was doing that crap in high school, I could work for hours on end because I was so into the projects and such. Even though I know I can’t really get into it right now, it is something that could be on the radar. Also.. maybe getting an iMac. I know Andrea would think that is an awesome idea, but I think we’ll just have to wait and see. I know I’ve been a long opponent to Macs in general let alone iMacs.. but for video editing.. I think they are pretty much the best machines out there… minus the G4s and all that crap. We’ll have to see if we can afford it later on down the line. That and Final Cut.

Any ways, I tested some of my captureing capabilities last night and realized I need a FireWire 4 to 6 point converter. It works fine on my Sony, but I think I’m going to try to do everything on Andrea’s computer.. since it’s a MacBook.. easy peasy stuff.

So after work today.. off to get an external hard drive, and some cables. I don’t want to spend anything over 200 bucks though. I might be in for a treat.

Bye.
